Charoenpas Mosque

Walking on Itsaraphap road towards Klong Bangkok Yai at the foot of Charoenpas bridge, you will find Charoenpas mosque or Kudi Charoenpas, the second oldest muslim mosques in Thonburi.


Upon taking the entrance on Itsaraphap Soi (alley) 28, you will find the mosque in wooden structure with a beautiful gingerbread style with a mixture of adapted Gothic style and fine wood carvings. It is one of the four places of worship for Thai- Muslims of Persian descent called “Khaek Chao Sen” (แขกเจ้าเซ็น)


This area of Thonburi lives many Islam families since King Taksin the great’s era. Some times there are Islamic food festival held by the residence of this little street that we enjoy the take away homemade menus.
